How sensuous is that?

First off, many thanks to all of you who came out to see us this past weekend at Annie's Social Club and at the Riptide. Both shows were fun as could be. Thanks to Dave Gleason and Ride The Blinds for complementing our music so well at Annie's.

And now here's a real treat for you. One of the featured songs I do with the Drifters is "Woman (Sensuous Woman)". Written by Gary Paxton, our version is based on Johnny Bush's 1973 recording of the tune. But today on youtube I found a vid of Don Gibson singing it on Porter Wagoner's TV show back in the day. Enjoy!

Friday's video of the week

Those of you who've been following the Plain High Drifters over the past years may have noticed, we often start our sets with a rousing rendition of Johnny Russell's classic "Rednecks, White Sox, and Blue Ribbon Beer." Wellsir, if you ever wanted to see the man himself belt it out, here's your chance:

I think our skinny Smelley needs to start chowing down on the Red Velvet Cake to catch up with ol' Johnny!

Rhodes-Bud Boogie Country Guitar Video of the Week

Here's a clip of Ernest Tubb's own Texas Troubadours Leon Rhodes & Buddy Charleton blurring the line between bop and country - good lord - in rather appropriate green cowboy hats at that.

Thanks to the folks who came out to the Riptide, we had a great time! Special thanks to Michael Montalto for joining us on piano, Monty you sounded great as always.
